Cillian wins medals at Darts World Cup in JapanThe whole school community in St. Farnan's in Prosperous has extended its congratulations to one of our 3rd year students, Cillian Heffernan, from Coill Dubh, who has just returned from the World Dart Federations World Cup in Japan with a very impressive medal haul of a silver and two bronzes.
Now a veteran on the Irish darts circuit, Cillian, who has been playing darts competitively since the age of 9, travelled to Japan as a member of the Irish team. His superb performances not only earned him three medals in various competitions but also qualification for the BDO World Championship Final which will be held in Lakeside, UK, on the BDO World Stage in January.
Cillian's medals were a Silver which was won in the Doubles final, a bronze in the Singles and an overall bronze as part of the 4 person Irish team.
A dedicated and professional sportsman, Cillian trains every day for two hours and also commits to monthly training with the Irish team and their competitive ranking events.
Huge congratulations to Cillian and we will all be cheering him on when he competes in the World Championship in January which will be televised. |
