European Tour - Italy - Update
St Farnan’s European Tour 2019
Excitement is building for the 2018/2019 St. Farnan’s European tour to Northern Italy. The final deposit will be collected on Thursday 7th Feb at 8am in Room 4. The final amount is yet to be confirmed but it will be approximately €250.
Fifth year students will be travelling to Italy on Tuesday 30th April departing Dublin airport at 6.15am. Students will have a jam packed four days in Italy visiting Lake Garda, Venice and Verona.
Students will visit the medieval city of Verona. The students will get to see Juliet’s House where the famous Juliet’s Balcony can be seen and the world famous amphitheatre Verona Arena. Students will get to experience the amazing floating city of Venice on Wednesday. Students will complete a walking tour of Venice and enjoy the sights and sounds of this wonderful city. St Mark's Basilica is the next destination and students will finish the day with a gondola ride down the world famous canals. No school tour is complete without a trip to a theme park and Thursday will be spent in Gardaland. Thrill seekers will enjoy the adventurous rollercoasters but there is something there for everyone. An evening boat trip around Lake Garda has been arranged for our evening activities. Friday is the final day of the tour. Students will start the morning by taking the Malcesine cable car to the top of Monte Baldo for a spectacular view over Lake Garda. Students will then conclude the trip with a visit to the shopping centre for some retail therapy.... Ms Bracken’s favourite part of the trip!! The group will head for the airport for the return flight.
The flight will arrive in Dublin airport on Friday 3rd May at 23.30. The trip has been organised by the School Tour Organisers Mr. Little & Ms. Breslin and they will be accompanied to Italy by Ms. Bracken (Fifth Year Yearhead), Ms. Flanagan, Mr. Kenna and Mr Furey.
Students are reminded that they will need a valid passport to travel to Italy and are advised to apply as soon as possible if they do not have a current passport. Students will also need a European Health Insurance Card. These can be applied for online at the following address https://www2.hse.ie/services/ehic/ehic.html.
