On the 6th of February, our Transition Year and 5th year music classes went to see “Motown the Musical” in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
It tells the story of a boxer, Berry Gordy, who follows his dream to set up a record label. This label launched the careers of famous musicians like Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and many more. The soundtrack features 50 classic tracks and the history behind them.
The set was very bright and colourful and was constantly updating, and the characters were all interesting and unique. This trip was very enjoyable and fun to watch.
