Magenta Introduction 21st September
The staff at St Farnan's enjoyed an interactive online workshop with world leading educationalist and author of the Magenta Principles™ Mr Mike Hughes. Mike led our staff through an informative and exciting on-line session. Mike will be working with a smaller group throughout the year.
The 'Magenta Principles' is an umbrella phrase that refers to a philosophy and an approach to teaching based upon the premise that learning should both be exciting and engaging. More specifically the phrase represents a pedagogy underpinned by an unshakeable belief that:
Learning is a consequence of thinking...therefore our job is to get them to think.
Language is central to thinking...therefore our job is to get them to talk.
Learning is an active process...therefore our job is to get them doing.
We look forward with great enthusiasm to our Magenta journey.
