On Tuesday, December 8th the TY students had the opportunity to do something quite unique - learn how to make a bodhrán!
Under the expert guidance of Michael Vignoles from Galway, the TYs engaged in every step of the process...sanding down their frames, inserting the support rods, stretching the skin, tacking it in place and finally, customising it with their own design.
They worked away diligently all day and were highly complimented by Mr. Vignoles. Their bodhráns looked amazing and they will be able to learn how to play them in a percussion workshop which has been organised for early in the New Year.
