On the 7th of November, the TY group went on a trip to the Mountlucas Windfarm to learn about wind turbines and how they work.
While we were in Mountlucas, we got to see many wind turbines and learn about what their made of and how they work. We learned that they are made out of balsa wood and fiberglass. We also got to watch several videos on how the turbines are built and what the inside looks like.
Over all it was a really fun day for all the TY students and we all learned a lot about windfarms and their importance in Ireland.
The Manager of the Mount Lucas facility, Ms. Catherine Swaine, was extremely knowledgeable and really made our visit very enjoyable.
